Oh Bedtime is the longest time of all
I can imagine Sean saying
Mummy I want water,
Mummy I need to pee,
or just flatly refuse to sleep as he does now.
It takes several hours each night to get Sean to sleep.
We'll play on the bed to get him ready for bed. He'll want to get off the bed to play on the floor.
Then we'll breastfeed. He gets a drink and then goes back to playing.
This goes on for at least an hour. When I finally get him to sleep, he naps for an hour and then wakes up.
Ready for more playtime, not caring that it's already midnight!
Mummy gotta stay next to him while he plays,
not allowed to do anything else,
Just in case he needs a cuddle.
This can go on for a long time, so Sean
crawls over Mummy left and right to watch Daddy playing FIFA 08,
flip the book mummy is trying to read,
jumps up and down while holding on to the bed railing,
dig out all his toys,
throws Captain America, Dr Doom and Magneto around,
until he's very very sleepy.
So he crawls to Mummy for a suckle,
while he gets patted, cuddled and soothed,
and finally falls asleep at 1.30am!
And even then, he's got to sleep on our bed until he's totally fast asleep
before we can move him to his bed.
And then in about 2 hours time, he'll wake up again
making a big fuss so he can sleep on our bed
and then proceed to roll around, taking up all the space!
Ooopsss.. Mummy is too optimistic. He's already awake again. But ...he he he.... too tired for more than a whine and a short crawl towards me who's racing to finish this blog. =P
Or maybe it would be easier if we switch off all the lights, no reading for mummy and no FIFA 08 for daddy until Sean is fast asleep. Just a thought =P

actually that is what we do - switch off the lights and I play dead. And strictly no getting off the bed either!
